ABOUT DRAMA CLUB
Drama Club is an after school program for students in grades five through eight interested in the theatrical arts. The function of Drama Club is to produce a musical production each spring. Membership can include, but is not limited to, performers (dancers, singers, actors) and stage crew (set designers/ painters, costume designers/creators, etc.). Drama Club will provide students with the opportunity to not only participate in all aspects of a musical production but learn performance skills, audition techniques, and technical aspects of the theatre.
MEETING TIMES
Meetings start immediately after school and run until 4:15PM. Drama Club will meet in the theatre on the following Thursdays:

THE 2017 MUSICAL
We are excited to announce that this year’s musical is Aladdin JR. Once the cast has been selected, a rehearsal schedule will be sent home with all cast members. Not all members of the cast will be required at all rehearsals but it is important to note that rehearsals will occur EVERY Thursday and Friday starting immediately after school until 4:30PM beginning on December 8. / AUDITIONS
Audition dates for this year’s musical, are listed below.
●Tuesday, November 29 - 5th and 6th grade
●Friday, December 2 - 7th and 8th grade
Students who are part of Drama Club but who would prefer to stay behind the scenes, will become part of stage crew. At the Drama Club meeting on November 17, students wishing to be part of the crew will choose the department they would most enjoy: set design/painting or costume design/sewing and instead of auditioning the week of November 28, they would begin attending meetings for their department.
●Set Design/Painting: Will meet EVERY Thursday starting immediately after school until 4:30PM beginning on December 1.
●Costume Design/Sewing: Will meet EVERY Friday starting immediately after school until 4:30PM beginning on December 2.

IMPORTANT DATES
ALL DRAMA CLUB MEMBERS (both Cast and Crew) are required to be available on the below dates. Prior to making a commitment to Drama Club, please review these dates and make sure they work for your family.
●Monday, March 27 - Thursday, March 30 (TECH WEEK, 3PM - tbd)
●Friday, March 31 SHOW 1, 7PM
●Saturday, April 1 SHOW 2, 7PM
●Sunday, April 2 SHOW 3, 2PM (cast party for Drama Club members and their families after the performance)

A $25 fee will help cover production materials and performance costs. Should you decide to make a commitment to Drama Club, the below portion of this letter needs to be returned with a check made payable to WRSD, by Monday, October 3.
