Dear Josie:
(1) Many thanks for your msg (ATTACHMENT I) in response to our list distribution of Reference (a) above.
I am very happy to hear of your agreement on the focus of our joint conference/workshop on the climate change, natural resources and international security. I am also delighted to hear of your holistic perspectives, not only geographically but also interdisciplinary.
(2) As for our preliminary planning mtg, can we have it in the afternoon (say, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm) of early days of the September 6th week at your conference room?
This is because Dr. Amit Mitra would come back from his home in Calcutta, India on September 5th.
Afternoon is preferable since Amit and Andrea need to come up from Washington DC area, if they decide to join in our mtg.
(3) Though not confirmed yet, possible attendees of the mtg could be the followings;

Prof. Harold Sjursen of Polytechnic Institute of NYU,
Prof. Carl Skelton of Polytechnic Institute of NYU,
Dr. Andrea Bassi of Millennium Institute,
Dr. Amit Maitra of Lockheed Martin Enterprise Solutions & Services,
Dr. Yuzo Kumasaka, an affiliate of Prof. Lawrence Klein of Univ. of PA.

You can visit <http://tinyurl.com/r4ppmh> for their address, brief bio and photos — except Dr. Kumasaka yet.

Dear Harold, Carl, Andrea, Amit and Yuzo:
As soon as I hear from Josie, I will inform you the exact date of our mtg. Pls attend it.

Dear Yuzo:

Dear Tak,
Many thanks for your very interesting email. I agree that climate change, natural resources and international security would be a very fitting and important topic for our joint conference. I also recently attended the CNA conference put together by the Environment and Research team in Washington, and this was exactly what they were looking at, albeit very much from a US perspective. I think it would be very important to look at this from a US perspective as well as an international one and to bring in people from fields that go beyond the military ones (but which include them also).
I return on the 31st august and will be happy to set up a meeting for the end of the first week of september if that is appropriate for you.
Warm wishes,
Josie
