Description: Basic English is a broad course that covers the full range of 16 English topics: sentences; nouns in sentences; pronouns in sentences; adjectives in sentences; action verbs in sentences; using state-of-the-being verbs in sentences; using adverbs in sentences; using prepositional phrases in sentences; using conjunctions and interjections; recognizing sentence patterns; identifying verbals and verb phrases; writing compound and complex sentences; repairing sentence problems; understanding paragraph basics; writing better paragraphs; preparing to write a report.

Description: Pre-Algebra is an all-inclusive course that covers 12 topics of algebra: Algebra and Whole Numbers; Using Decimals; Number Theory; Rational Numbers; Basic Operations; Ratios, Proportions, and Percents; Integers; Exponents, Square Roots, and the Pythagorean Theorem; Equations from Geometry; Graphing; Geometry; Data, Statistics, and Probability.

Description: This course examines some of the greatest ocean explorers, the physical and chemical properties of sea water, the ecological interactions and principles that are vital to understanding the ocean food web, evolution of marine life, and all major marine phyla. The course increases awareness of the ocean as an extremely significant natural resource.

This course is designed to meet the Yukon-Koyukuk School District Curriculum, State of Alaska Performance Standards.
