Youth Soccer Rules

Penalties:
2-minute minor (BLUE card) - Minor penalty, player must leave field for two (2) minutes and only return when penalty time expires or opposing team scores, whichever happens first. Play does not restart until player leaves the field. Penalty time starts at restart.
4-minute major (YELLOW card) - Major penalty, player must leave field for four (4) minutes and only return when penalty time expires. Play does not restart until player leaves the field. Penalty time starts at restart.
5-minute send-off (RED card) - Game misconduct, player must leave the FACILITY within two minutes. Team plays shorthanded for five (5) minutes and a substitute can only enter when penalty time expires. Play does not restart until player leaves the facility. Penalty time starts at restart.
1. Teams play with a maximum of 6 players and a minimum of 4, one of them MUST be a goalkeeper.
2. Sneakers, Turf shoes, and outdoor cleats are allowed.
3. Shin guards are mandatory and must provide appropriate protection. Referee has final say about appropriate protection.
4. Substituted player must leave before substituting player comes in.
5. Substitutions occur around the center line.
6. Substitutions are unlimited and on the fly, except goal keeper.
7. GK subs only when ball is not in play and when authorized by referee.
8. In case of infraction, allow substitution and restart with IFK for opposing team.
9. No slide tackling and no sliding when playing the ball. Game will restart with DFK to opposing team; if inside penalty area, a PK will be awarded.
10. Goal keepers are allowed to slide within the penalty area ONLY IF making a save and when not considered reckless by the referee. If slide takes keeper outside the box, then DFK is awarded to opposing team.
11. Kick-off, Corners and PK are DFK.
12. Ball must move forward on kick-off.
13. If the ball hits the ceiling or A/C duct, the ball is OUT of play. Game will restart with IFK under the spot where ball hit the ceiling.
14. If the ball crosses the touch line, the ball is OUT of play. Game will restart with a "kick-in"; ball must touch the touch line.
15. A goal cannot be scored from a "kick-in".
16. Goal keepers cannot punt the ball. Game will restart w/IFK on the "18" (top of the penalty area).
17. Goal keepers can drop-kick the ball.
18. Goal keepers cannot throw the ball or drop-kick it over the center line. Game will restart w/IFK on the centerline.
19. Goal kicks cannot go over the center line. Game will restart w/IFK on the centerline.
20. There is no off sides.
21. In case of shirt color conflict, team listed as the home team changes (always bring a dark and a light shirt to the game).
