Narrative Prompt

Flying Principal

While looking out the window one day at school, you notice the principal flying in the air. In several paragraphs, write a story telling what happens.

Expository Prompt

An Object that Mans a Lot To You

Think of an object that means a lot to you. In several paragraphs for your teacher, identify the object and explain why it is important to you.

Narrative Prompt

Paper in a Bottle

One day you find a bottle with a rolled-up piece of paper inside. In several paragraphs, write a story telling what happens.

Expository Prompt

Something You Learned

Think of something that is important to you that you learned in school or outside of school. In several paragraphs, write a letter to your teacher explaining what you learned and why it is important to you.

Narrative Prompt

One day while hiking in the mountains you come upon a cave. In several paragraphs, write a story telling what happens.

Expository Prompt

Think about an activity you enjoy doing. Write several paragraphs explaining to your teacher the reasons why you like doing that activity.

Narrative Prompt

One day as you are walking to school, your backpack turns into a pair of wings. In several paragraphs, write a story telling what happens.

Expository Prompt

Think about this school year. In several paragraphs, write a letter to a third grader explaining the most important things she or he should know about being a fourth grader AND why she or eh should know about these things.
