Women Who Inspire Awards

2015 Nomination Form

The Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) is pleased to invite nominations for the 2015 Muslim “Women Who Inspire” fundraiser and awards brunch. The initiative was launched in 2007, to recognize Canadian Muslim women who have made a difference in the lives of other people in Canada and/or abroad. The awards are now part of CCMW’s regular activities. At least one of the honourees will be 30 years of age or younger.

Eligibility Criteria:

·  Nominee must be a Canadian Muslim woman living in Canada. Her work may have made a difference within or outside of Canada.

·  Nominee must demonstrate a commitment to improving the lives of others.

·  Nominee must demonstrate a commitment to women’s equality.

·  Nominees must have participated in grassroots activism or demonstrated a commitment to civic engagement.

·  Current CCMW national board members and staff cannot be nominated.

·  Nominations not submitted as per the guidelines may be disqualified.

Nomination Requirements:

·  Nominators must answer all the criteria questions.

·  Nominators must submit a CV/Bio of the nominee.

·  Nominators must submit a completed nomination form.

·  A complete nominations package (answers to the five questions, a CV/Bio of the nominee and the nomination form) must be submitted either online or by email. Please do not split application package between the online form and email.

·  No videos, books, CDs or other materials may be submitted.

Selection Process:

·  The selection committee will comprise representatives of CCMW’s board, chapter members, and members of the broader community. Nominations will be assessed against the criteria questions.

Deadline:

·  Send all application materials to by May 29, 2015. Emailed documents should be sent in PDF or Word format. Award recipients to be announced early Fall 2015.

Nominators will be asked to present the awards to the nominees at the awards ceremony.
