Weekly Planning Form and Child Observation Guidance

Plan Sheet:

1. Plan sheets are completed weekly and submitted to supervisor online prior to being posted in the classroom.

2. The Objective/Dimension needs to be included for each activity offered on the plan sheet.

3. Outdoor activities need to be specific and related to the individual goals for children.

4. The read aloud should include a literacy activity that is connected to the story and it should be listed in the box below labeled notes.

5. Small group activities should include one to two activities per week that all children will participate in.

6. Large group activities should include activities for the morning circle. These include greeting, review of classroom rules, choices for activity time, discussions and connections to home.

7. The Family Partnership section can include anything done by or with families that will support/enhance the classroom.

Observations:

A minimum of one observation per dimension within the Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment System will be completed for each assessment period. This will be done through either direct entry into the computer of an observation or utilizing the On the Spot Observation Recording Tool to collect and document the information. This documentation is to be kept on file for ongoing review by the supervisor.
