We have adopted a new spelling curriculum called Words Their Way. It calls their spelling lists “sorts”. I will give you one hard copy in their homework packet so that your student can study them during the week for their test that they will have on Friday. Your student will also have a baggy of their word “sort” as well. You will notice that there are labels that say VVC, VC, VCC, VCe. The “V” stands for “Vowel” and the “C” stands for “Consonant”. For example, VVC means to sorts the words into a group that ends with Vowel, Vowel, and Consonant. I will model this with the students every Monday so that they should know how to do it before they come home.
