The National Stroke Foundation

What we do-

The National Stroke Foundation is a not for profit organisation that is dedicated to reducing stroke in Australia. The National Stroke Foundation is aiming to save 110,000 Australians from death and disability due to stroke over 10 years. The organisation relies on funds raised by the public to achieve this goal.

Stroke statistics

·  Approximately 60,000 strokes occur in Australia every year.

·  A stroke occurs every 10 minutes.

·  Stroke is Australia’s second single greatest killer and a leading cause of adult disability.

·  Stroke costs Australia an estimated $1.3 billion each year.

·  The good news is that stroke can be prevented and treated.

What you can do-

Through your fundraising and donations, the National Stroke Foundation can work towards achieving our goals. The organisation has four key priority areas:

1.  Prevention: reducing the number of Australians having strokes.

2.  Improved Treatment: improving the chances of full recovery if you have a stroke.

3.  Better Support: assisting survivors and their families to improve life after stroke.

4.  Research.

Each and every dollar raised will help our four key priority areas reach their goals and keep Australia informed about Stroke.
