What I liked best

2 hours

none

Extremely stimulating. The English Dept. had as a good a faculty then as any place in the country. I regarded my classroom experiences almost as a daily adventure.

Douglas Day, George Garrett and Joe Blotner. Day because I lived his somewhat irreverent approach to things and the fact that I wanted to work in his classes (2 "A"s). Garrett was the best entertainment in four years. Blotner for the subject matter (Faulkner, Conrad).

Dean Runk for his handling of the odd scrapes my fraternity got in.

Superb faculty and teaching.

Residential Life

Seemed like a good idea at the time.

In lime for room assignments at 4:00 a.m. Applications were competitive.

Most Vivid Memory

Fraternity parties, football games, gingko trees on Rugby Rd., almost dying from running my motorcycle into a car running a stop sign at Carr's Hill and Rugby Rds. Sunday of Easters week-end, illegally entertaining my date in my room on the Lawn (a not uncommon practice), Sunday polo games, George Garrett's lectures, fraternity initiations, Sunday parties in the Quadrangle, two years of Navy ROTC>
