Policies

General

For policies regarding content and grading for this course, please refer to your lecture course’s syllabus.

Attendance

Recitation attendance is not mandatory, as covered in the lecture course’s syllabus. However, since all dealings with quizzes and tests are conducted during the recitation session, your final grade will be significantly impacted by your recitation attendance. Furthermore, recitation is the easiest way for you to address questions you have about course material and homework, and by attending recitation you will have a deeper grasp on the material and score better on graded assignments, quizzes, exams, and the final.

It is expected that when you attend recitation, you will be in your seat ready to learn when class is scheduled to begin.

Homework

You will be turning in your homework online using WebAssign. If you have homework questions to ask during recitation, please print out your WebAssign homework and bring it to recitation, as not everyone will have the same numbers in their homework problems.

Quizzes and Exams

Per your lecture course’s syllabus, absolutely no make-up quizzes or exams will be given. If you miss a quiz or exam, you will receive a zero.

Classroom Policies

Student behavior that interferes with an instructor’s ability to conduct a class or other students' opportunity to learn is unacceptable and disruptive and will not be tolerated in any instructional forum at UNT. Students engaging in unacceptable behavior will be directed to leave the classroom and the instructor may refer the student to the Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities to consider whether the student's conduct violated the Code of Student Conduct. The university's expectations for student conduct apply to all instructional forums, including university and electronic classrooms, labs, discussion groups, field trips, etc.

Code of Student Conduct:

Please be courteous to the instructor and your fellow students and silence your cell phone before class, and do not send or receive calls or text messages during class time.

Student Evaluation of Teaching Effectiveness (SETE) is a requirement for all organized classes at UNT. This short survey will be made available to you at the end of the semester, providing you a chance to comment on how this class is taught.

It is the responsibility of students with certified disabilities to provide the instructor with appropriate documentation from the Office of Disability Accommodations (ODA).
