Being respectful has several meanings. Students must be respectful to the teacher, the classroom, and their peers. Class begins as soon as the tardy bell rings. Students must have a pen or pencil, paper, and their books everyday. The bell doesn’t dismiss you, the teacher will dismiss you. Finally, follow all school rules as they are found in the student code of conduct handbook.

Grading Policy:

Your grade will be determined on a percent system:

·  60% (Test, Quizzes, Projects, Etc)
·  30% (Homework/Classwork)
·  10% (Teacher Discretion)

Remember to always do your best. Everything we do in class is very important. Test will hold the majority of the points given. However, doing everything that is asked will help you keep a decent grade. ** Please write your name on your paper. If I have work without a name it will be tossed away **

Make up Work:

Make up test – You must come to me and schedule a date in the morning to make up any missed test. Remember, you must have an excused absence for the day you missed to be able to take your test. Any unexcused absences will result in a 0 for that test.

Make up work – Any make up work is due by that Chapter exam. (Example: A student misses Ch. 13 vocabulary, that student has until Ch. 13 exam to turn it in. If we are on Ch. 16 I will not accept Ch. 13 vocabulary)

Test:

Test questions will come from lecture notes and reading assignments from the book. For students to do well on a test, they must take good notes and read any assigned work. Students will be tested on analytical knowledge and less on factual knowledge (memorizing). Students can expect the following on each test:

·  Multiple Choice
·  Matching
·  Fill in the blank / ·  Short Answer
·  Essay

Projects:

Any project work given has a specific meaning to the lesson. Projects will count as 2 test grades. With that said, students will be graded on effort, creativity, neatness, completion, and accuracy according to a rubric that students will be given prior to grading. Projects should be taken seriously and students should take pride in their work. Remember students, “Always Do Your Best”.
