Internship Positions

The U.S.-Russia Business Council is a nonprofit trade association that represents the trade and investment interests of 300 American companies operating in the Russian market. Working with both the U.S. and Russian governments in support of member-company interests, the Council plays a vital role in expanding and enhancing the bilateral commercial relationship. In addition to offering a wide variety of information and programming designed to assist member companies, the Council also conducts company-and industry-specific troubleshooting on behalf of its members. The U.S. Russia Business Council is seeking a full-time intern with Capitol Hill experience to work with staff members of the Coalition for U.S.-Russia Trade. The Coalition for U.S.-Russia Trade is a diverse group of U.S. companies and trade associations committed to strengthening U.S.-Russian commercial ties and preserving the competitiveness of U.S. firms, farmers and workers in the Russian market. Its members span the varied sectors of U.S. industries engaged in trade with Russia. The Coalition’s Secretariat, which is housed at the U.S.-Russia Business Council in Washington, DC, is led by veterans of trade policy campaigns.

Graduate students preferred.

Position: Paid Full-time Internship

Dates Available: Winter/Spring – January to May 2012

Responsibilities:

· Provide administrative support to staff

· Write summaries of Council briefings and roundtable discussions

· Research and respond to member requests for information

· Provide logistical and administrative support for Council events

· Research and prepare reports on industry sector activity

· Other duties, as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

· Background in Russian Studies, International Affairs, Political Science, Business or Economics

· Excellent writing skills

· Russian language skills a plus

· Hill experience a must

· Internet research skills

· Microsoft Office experience (Word/Excel/Access/Internet/Explorer/Outlook)
