Utility Manitenance WORKER

The Town of Dobson has an immediate opening for a Utility Maintenance Worker. This position performs a variety of work assignments pertinent to the maintenance and repair of streets, drainage systems, and water and sewer facilities. Work assignments may include, but are not limited to, tasks such as erecting street signs, striping street lines, trimming trees and bushes, cleaning storm drains and catch basins, flagging traffic, mowing outfall lines and rights of ways, checking and maintaining wastewater pump stations, and assisting in the minor repair of facilities, equipment, and vehicles.

This position requires a high school diploma/GED and a valid NC Driver’s license. Applicant ability to obtain various wastewater and water certifications within 12 months of employment. Preference will be given to candidates with at least 6 months experience in the wastewater collection and water distribution field.

The Town of Dobson offers excellent health benefits, retirement, and 401k. Starting Salary is $27,468, with a higher starting salary available for those with considerable experience and/or applicable certifications.
