To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is in recommendation of the talents and skills of the team of programmers collectively known to me as the “Shebang Team”. I had the opportunity to work with the four members of the team: Darrell Bishop, Eric Knell, Orion Auld, and Jeff Bay, from May until October of 1999 at a startup enterprise known as Mobile Engines, where I worked as VP of Engineering.

This is a very thorough and methodical team. They were able to consistently achieve on-time delivery of projects under significant internal and external pressure.

They were able to apply themselves to all phases of software implementation, including meetings with vendors, partners, and client representatives. They worked closely with Business Development personnel to negotiate achievable goals and requirements for the company’s software applications and deliverables, often distilling vague marketing direction into tangible objectives.

They have a drive to succeed that is fueled both by a professional commitment to the company and management that have retained their services as well as an uncompromising internal motivation to excel. In one case at Mobile Engines, an important demo to a customer was needed by 10am the next day. In the vagaries of startup chaos, the network access to our development servers was cut. In order to achieve on time delivery of the project, part of the team worked through a 24 hours marathon programming session, the latter part of it sitting on the server room floor with laptops to put the finishing touches on the program. They returned to the business offices that same morning and proceeded to escort the customer through the application without a hitch.

I would recommend this team, in whole or in part, to any development manager considering hiring them. To that end, I would be happy to further discuss their qualifications with you at your convenience. I can be reached at 408.674.1100 during most business hours.
