POLICE NEWS
A MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF – Trick or Treat is October 25th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, so please mark that on your calendars and remember to watch out for the safety of the children that night.
The South Charleston Kid’s Club is pleased to host the Halloween events at the Opera House and Gilberts. We hope to see many new and returning faces.
The Police Department has lost several officers over the last several months to larger departments. We have recently hired Adam Fischer and Kaleb Landers to fill some of the void, but we are still down several positions.

FALL NEWSLETTER 2015
Fall is the season of sweatshirts, football, hot cocoa and pumpkins. It is also the prelude to the holiday season and, dare we say, snow and winter. The Village will be working hard to keep things cleaned up and get prepared for the next season. We will have the Street Sweeper out, cleaning the streets and clearing catch basins. But, as always, please do not rake leaves into the streets. Yard debris and leaves gather on top of and inside of catch basins. This causes problems in the Storm Sewer System. On top of the basins, the debris doesn’t allow rain or snow melt to wash away into the storm sewers. When the debris gets washed into the basins it can cause blockages and flood into the streets. Waste management companies have plans in place to assist you in disposing of leaves and yard waste.
Brush chipping is scheduled for the week of November 9th. We will make one complete pass through the Village so make sure your twigs and limbs are ready to go. Please keep your piles neat with the cut ends toward the street. Once we have worked our way through the Village, the Chipper will be parked for the season allowing for the snow plow and salt spreader to be put on the truck.
There are still plenty of BICENTENNIAL events to come. Including…
