THE ONE TRIPARTE GODHEAD

The same [the Word] was in the beginning WITH God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. – John 1:2, 3

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in THE NAME [singular] of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost . . . -- Matt. 28:19

John 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

GODHEAD . . .

Acts 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the GODHEAD is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD . . .

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the GODHEAD bodily. – Col 2:8

The name of God or the ONE GODHEAD is the Plural Elohim. Elohim is composed of three Persons. The Elohim Godhead is a singular Plurality with a singular name expressed in the plural as the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one.

The GodHead is Singular Plural of Three

Gen 1:1, 2 In the beginning GOD [ELOHIM] created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after our likeness . . .

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of US, to know good and evil:

Gen 11:7 Go to, let US go down, and there confound their language . . .

Isa 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for US? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Heb 1:2, 10 Hath . . . spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds . . . And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

The ELOHIM GODHEAD is a singular Plurality whose NAME (singular) is referred to as Father, the Son and Holy Ghost and these THREE are ONE. All three were involved in creation as the Creator. The Triune Godhead is a singular Plurality with a singular name expressed in the plural as Father, Son (Word), and Holy Ghost, and these three are one. God the Father is the Creator, God the Word is the Creator, and God the Holy Spirit is the Creator. The Pentecostal Oneness cult, cannot address or explain the above "US" and "OUR" passages, but he rather muddies the water with more evasion and avoidance by asking a non related question. The best that they can do is make the heavenly host equal to God in the US and OUR passages. That is absurd. Was man created in the image of the heavenly host or did the heavenly host create the earth? The cultist complains that Trinitarians are saying that one member of the Godhead is commanding the other members, when it is not a command at all but an agreeing unison of one another, a Godhead who is composed of all three Sprits at this juncture.

The Father is God

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. – John 6:27

Few would object to the everlasting Father as being God.

The Word, Son of God, is God

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. – Isa. 9:6

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God . . . And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. – John 1:1, 2, 14

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. – John 1:18

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. -- John 8:58

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. – 1 Tim 3:16

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour . . . 1 Tim. 2:3

The word became flesh as the Son of God, Jesus, and declared the Father even to the point of sharing the everlasting Father’s name by virtue of being God’s Son and by virtue of the Godhead dwelling in the Son bodily (Col 2:9).

The Holy Spirit is God

Gen 1:2 . . . And the SPIRIT OF GOD moved upon the face of the waters.

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. – Acts 5:3, 4

God is Three Separate Entities or Beings

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God [Holy Spirit] descending like a dove, and lighting upon him [the Son]: And lo a voice from heaven [the Father], saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. – Matt. 3:16, 17

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

John 1:1 – 3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made that was made . . .

1 John 5:7, 8 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

2 Cor 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

Whether one wants God the Father, God the Word (Son), or God the Holy Ghost to be three separate persons or three separate Beings or three separate Entities, the fact remains that the scriptures separate each of them by way of reference, and we even find them in three separate locations at the same time as well as in the same place at the same time. I’ll never forget my first confrontation, as a new Christian, with Jehovah’s Witnesses over the 1 John 5:7 as they challenged me to find the term “trinity” in the Bible, just as some Reformed people challenge pre-tribbers and per mills to find the word “rapture” in the Bible. Of course, the terms are not in the scriptures but are rather condensed theological terms to express the doctrine of the Triune Godhead (or as some prefer the doctrine of the tri-unity) and the doctrine of Christians being caught away from the earth alive.

Since I subscribe to no creeds nor care what Augustine, Calvin, Spurgeon, or early so called church fathers or council said, I handled the JW’s then pretty much the way that I handle the challenge today. I proceeded to prove the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. One need but check the words of the hymn, “Rock of Ages” to learn the significance of the water and the blood. It was the water and the blood that flowed from the pierced side of the Saviour that is the double cure. That is the way that Jesus went – by water and blood in death, but that is also the way that Jesus came in His birth – by water and blood, born of a virgin. The threefold witness on earth is the water and the blood as well as the Holy Spirit’s testimony to it in the Holy Spirit inspired word of God.

Still Only One God, One Saviour, ONE God

Isa 41:4, Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I AM he.

Isa 43:10, 11. . . ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour . . .

Mk 12:29-32 . . . The Lord our God is one Lord . . .And the scribe said unto him . . . there is one God; and there is none other but he . . .

2 Tim 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

1 Tim 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour . . .

And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last . . . -- Rev. 1:17

These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; -- Rev. 2:8

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. – Rev. 22:13

The fact that there is one and only one God must be understood in the sense of a unified GODHEAD. There is none else. Still the God Head is composed of the Father the Word, and the Holy Ghost. Each Divine Being or Entity in the Godhead exists as God and coexists with each other as a unified Godhead. Both Jesus and the Father are said to be the only Saviour as well as the first and the last. There is no difference of will or purpose or divine attributes. Nevertheless, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit have different functions in the God Head’s divine plan. Still, we do not accept the three as body, soul, and spirit of God as some teach.
