An adventurous explorer and writer, Jack London traveled to lands all around the great Pacific Ocean—Alaska, Japan, Russia, Australia, and Polynesia. He wrote more than 50 books and his stories often described the struggle between man and his environment. Many of Jack London’s themes of still resonate today, nearly 100 years after his death.

The workshop begins with breakfast under the oaks at Jack London’s Beauty Ranch. Presentations by noted Jack London scholars will discuss the literary, political, and environmental aspects of this prolific author. A picnic lunch is followed by tours of the Beauty Ranch and the Wolf House ruins with a final session held in the museum where attendees will receive several books and a DVD about Jack London.
