Introduction:

After answering the questions for each of the three alternatives write a one paragraph summary of each alternative. Once you have written these summaries you will write a short essay answering the problem question.

Goal:
Answering the Problem Question:

Were the interests of the Greek people better served by the Oligarchy of Sparta or by the Democracy of Athens?

Your essay requirements:

• At least 6 paragraphs
  An introduction stating your thesis (that is, your answer to the problem question in a sentence).
• 2 paragraphs that you will use to explain why the alternative you chose is the best
• 2 paragraphs explaining why each of the other two alternatives were not as convincing
• A conclusion that restates your thesis and reviews the evidence you have used to support it.

Note:

Each paragraph will havea minimum of 3 sentences. Your paragraph will contain a topic sentence, supporting sentence(s) as well as a transition sentence.
