FOCUS Center for Autism Receives Two Grants

On Friday, June 28th, FOCUS Center for Autism received two $500 grants from the Kohl’s Associates in Action program. The grants were awarded in recognition of associates from Kohl’s #969 in Waterbury and #1488 in Berlin who volunteered at FOCUS’s Festival for Autism on June 8th. In order to qualify for this grant, a minimum of five associates from each store needed to engage in service activities for a youth-serving nonprofit organization for at least three consecutive hours. During the Festival for Autism, both stores’ volunteers worked diligently to set up and take down the festival, run activities, and interact with the hundreds of attendees. Their assistance was instrumental in making the Festival for Autism run smoothly, and FOCUS is very appreciative of their service.

FOCUS Center for Autism is a grassroots, community based nonprofit whose mission is helping children, adolescents and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders reach their full potential by providing clinical programming, community education, and family support.
