Welcome to the GED Ready™ Test online course. This syllabus will serve as a guide for the next four weeks. It will provide information about course objectives and expectations, as well as outline assignments and due dates. Please review this document, and print a hard copy to have as a reference. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me.

Course Goal and Objectives

The goal of this course is to provide participants with an introduction to the new GED® 2014. During this course, participants will:

·  Obtain information about the changes to the structure and format of the GED® 2014 Assessment.

·  Learn more about the Reasoning through Language Arts (RLA) and Mathematics portions of the test. There will also be information presented about Social Studies and Science.

·  Also acquire instructional strategies that will be useful to them as they prepare students for the new assessment.

Course Expectations

KYAE policy requires employees to fully participate and complete all course assignments. You must complete every assignment in order to receive credit for this course. The start date and end date for each week is outlined in the Course Schedule below. Please review the document entitled “Online Course Netiquette Guidelines” available in the “Getting Started” folder. It provides a detailed explanation of the structure of this online course.
