NOTICE OF RACE

Organizing Authority: Willow Bank Yacht Club, Cazenovia, NY 13035

1. RULES:

The regatta will be governed by the rules, as defined by The Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016, and those of the International Finn Association

2. ELIGIBILITY, ENTRY and REGISTRATION:

2.1 All boats of the Finn Class are invited to participate.

2.2 Registration will be at the clubhouse from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM on Saturday morning,

August 13.

2.3 The entry fee is $35.00 or $30.00 for those paid pre-registrations received by 07/30/16.

(Dinner fee to be determined at registration time.)

3. MEASUREMENT:

3.1 Boats entered in the races must comply with Finn Class measurement requirements.

4. SCHEDULE:

4.1 The skippers meeting will be at 9:00 AM on Saturday, Aug. 13 at the waterfront at WBYC.

4.2 We will attempt to have four to five (4-5) races on Saturday, and two (2) races on Sunday, depending on weather. Racing will start on Saturday at 10:00 am, and Sunday at 9:30 am.

5. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: Sailing Instructions will be available at WBYC at registration.

6. RACING AREA and COURSES: The racing area will be on Cazenovia Lake. The courses shall be triangle-windward-leeward windward or double windward leeward with a windward finish. Marks will be temporary orange inflatable buoys.

7. PERSONAL SAFETY: Participants race at their own discretion and participants agree to waive any claims against the race committee, Willow Bank Yacht Club or its officers, members or any and all race organizers as a result of any action or omission on their part in connection with this regatta. We recommend that all participants wear personal flotation devices while racing.

8. SCORING: The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A4 of the RRS, will apply. A minimum of one race must be sailed to constitute a regatta. A boat’s worst score will be excluded if 5 or more races are completed.

9. LAUNCHING: Both hoist and ramp launching facilities are available at WBYC.

10. PRIZES: Awards for competitors shall be awarded to first through third place finishers.

11. FACILITIES: Camping is available on the Yacht Club grounds. Shower facilities will be open

24 hours. There are several motels in area, and, as available, beds in private homes for those who pre-register by 07/30.

12. SOCIAL:

The entry fee includes:

· Coffee each morning

· Lunch & post race refreshments both days

Additional lunches for family members or friends may be purchased.

Dinner plans are not yet finalized and will be dependent on anticipated regatta attendance. For this reason, advance notice of your plans to attend the regatta will be greatly appreciated. Dress is casual.
