AbilityNet is a website that helps people adapt and adjust their information and communications technology. Click on the ‘Advice & Information’ tab, you will find useful factsheets and in ‘My Computer My Way’ there are tips on how to customise your computer for your needs.

This website offers free download of a user friendly dictionary, thesaurus and word finder. It is able to give words within their context to help you decide if they are correct within the sentence. Once downloaded if you are typing within a Word document and you place the cursor on the word and press Ctrl, Alt, W together, then wordweb will give you the information instantaneously. You can also opt to hear the word and suggestions are given for alternative words.

The ‘Health in Wales’ website is the organisational portal of NHS Wales. This website offers ‘BrowseAloud’ technology. This enables the text to be read out loud as you move the mouse around the page. Click on the accessibility tab at the top of the page for instructions to enable this feature. It also gives instructions on how to access ‘Read Out Loud’ functions for PDF documents/articles.
