The 2013 Minnesota Legislature charged the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) with providing grants to each Minnesota county fair “to enhance arts access and education and to preserve and promote Minnesota’s history and cultural heritage.”

Watch your friends, neighbors see how tough their old garden tractors are and then watch the kids show off their driving skills in their own old Power Wheels battery driven cars. Fun for the whole family.

Goodhue County Fair POWER WHEELS DERBY 2015 Rules:

·  This is supposed to be fun for the kids, Parents, PLEASE don’t ruin it for them.

·  This is for kids ages 4-9.

·  Derby is limited to 6 or 12 volt power wheel only.

·  No added reinforcementfor strength, let the kids have fun painting them.

·  Stock tires only, no screws in tires, No Chains, Etc.

·  Do not raise or lower. Power Wheels must sit like it came from the store.

·  Stock battery can be replaced with 12 volt lawn mower battery. Batteries MUST be secured.

·  Helmets are mandatory, bicycle helmet is ok.

·  Seatbelts are recommended.

·  No Passengers.

·  Pre-enter preferred and every child will receivesomething.

·  ENTRY FEE: free

Everyone must pay at the gate to enter the fair grounds.

The Mitchell Marionettes

Combining ventriloquism, stringed marionettes, had puppets and more, the show is scheduled up to four times a day every day from the decks of the elaborate Mississippi Riverboat stage. Also appearing will be Millie the Monkey – a full-sized, animatronic, talking chimp puppet, who will carry the mayhem out into the fairgrounds as she rides around on her bicycle. Cape Cod Chainsaw Artist

Joyce Potter will be cutting and sculpting logs into artwork Wednesday through Friday. The art pieces will be auctioned off on Saturday following the 4H Auction. Check the items out on Facebook during the fair.
