“One World” FEATURED ARTISTS:

9

Martin Nethercutt

As the creator of the “One World” material and concept, Martin will be featured as songwriter, co-producer, vocalist and guitarist on this collaborative project.

Martin Barre and Doane Perry (Jethro Tull)

Jethro Tull was a unique phenomenon in popular music history. Their mix of hard rock; folk melodies; blues licks; surreal, impossibly dense lyrics; and overall profundity defied easy analysis, but that didn't dissuade fans from giving them 11 Gold and five Platinum albums. Co-founded by wild man flautist, guitarist, singer-songwriter Ian Anderson, the group carved a place all its own in popular music.

With sales of around 60 million albums and more than 2500 concerts in 40 countries, the band continues to tour and record, typically performing 100 concerts per year. In early 2002, Jethro Tull completed their first DVD of live concert and performance material. Also released is the new associated live CD. Both are entitled, “Living with the Past”.

Bill Champlin and Jason Scheff (Chicago)

Chicago is second only to The Beach Boys as the most successful American rock band of all time. The group formed officially on February 15, 1967, in the city from which it eventually would take its name. Chicago has to its credit 20 Top Ten singles, 12 Top Ten albums (five of which were #1), and sales of more than 120 million records.

Marino

International award-winning guitarist has toured with Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter and ZZ Top among others. In addition, he also has several Gold albums as a solo artist.

Marino is the creator and producer of Marino Soundwaves and De Silva Productions. The company has collaborated with Grammy-winning artists Carlos Santana, Jose Feliciano, Patti LaBelle, George Benson and a host of other international artists on various projects, including the award-winning “Wings Of Light - Songs of Inspiration” which was honored at the 2001 Los Angeles Music Awards the same evening Marino received the “Humanitarian of the Year” award.

Steve Lukather (Toto)

Toto released its self-titled debut album in October 1978, and it hit the Top Ten, sold two-million copies, and spawned the gold Top Ten single "Hold the Line." The gold-selling Hydra (October 1979) and Turn Back (January 1981) followed. Toto IV (April 1982) was multi-platinum Top Ten hit; featuring the number-one hit "Africa" and the Top Tens "Rosanna” and "I Won't Hold You Back." At the 1982 Grammy’s, "Rosanna" won awards for Record of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Performance, and Best Instrumental Arrangement with Vocal; and Toto IV won awards for Album of the Year, Best Engineered Recording, and Best Producer (the group).

Skunk Baxter

(Doobie Brothers/Steely Dan)

Best-known for his work with Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter's versatility and highly developed technique as a soloist made him a hugely in-demand session guitarist from the '70s on. He has also worked with Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand, Rod Stewart, Bryan Adams, Ringo Starr, Carly Simon, Donna Summer, Joni Mitchell, Rick Nelson, Hoyt Axton, and Freddie Hubbard, among many others.

Chuck Negron (Three Dog Night)

Three Dog Night scored a succession of 21 hit singles, including eleven Top Tens, and twelve consecutive gold albums from 1969 to 1975, thanks to the slick, sometimes soulful vocal harmonies of singers Danny Hutton, Chuck Negron, and Cory Wells and an excellent ear for quality material. They met with massive

success, scoring 18 consecutive Top 20 singles, including number ones like Mama Told Me Not to Come, Joy to the World, and Black and White. The band was noted for its creative arrangements and interpretations, and their cover choices gave exposure to several talented songwriters: Nilsson (One), Laura Nyro ("Eli's Coming"), Randy Newman (Mama Told Me (Not to Come)), Hoyt Axton (Joy to the World), Argent's Russ Ballard (Liar), and Leo Sayer (The Show Must Go On). The band took their name from an Australian expression describing low nocturnal temperatures in the outback (the colder the night, the more dogs needed to keep warm while sleeping).

Alex Ligertwood (Santana)

Alex Ligertwood, the Golden Voice of Santana, has recorded twelve Platinum and Gold Albums with Santana including Classics Zebop!, Shango, Marathon and Sacred Fire, with international sales surpassing twenty million. On the 1997 Legacy / Columbia release, Best of Santana (which is still on the Billboard Chart) it is Alex’s voice that propelled Santana into the Top 20 with chart hits All I Ever Wanted, Winning and Hold On.

Carl Verheyen (Supertramp)

Supertramp had a number of best-selling albums, culminating in their 1979 masterpiece, Breakfast in America. Breakfast in America marked their first album that tipped the scale completely in the favor of pop songs; on the strength of the hit singles "Goodbye Stranger," "Logical Song," and "Take the Long Way Home" it sold over 18 million copies worldwide.

Vince di Cola (Composer for Oscar winner Sylvester Stallone's Rocky IV)

"Keyboard maestro" and famed film composer for Stallone's Rocky IV which sold over 10 million albums worldwide performs with special guests Jason Scheff, Ellis Hall, Doane Perry, Paulino Da Costa and Denise Stewart.

Marino was honored as “Humanitarian of the Year” at the 2001 Los Angeles Music Awards, and received the “Paws of Fame” award from the Wildlife Waystation the same year in recognition of his “support and commitment to animals worldwide”.

In response to the 9-11 tragedy, Marino produced one of the most successful and creative musical projects, "Guitars for Freedom" featuring some of the greatest guitar players in the history of music. Marino digitally re-mastered unreleased Jimi Hendrix and Santana tracks, as well as Grammy-winners Steve Vai, Albert Lee, Martin Barre (Jethro Tull), Alan Holdsworth and a host of other guitar greats. One World Co-Producer: Martin Nethercutt

After immigrating from Europe in 1992, Martin worked with Mr. Mister guitarist Steve Farris and continued to develop his songwriting and vocal skills in the L.A. scene. He also continued writing and recording music, jingles and station IDs for the European radio and TV markets, where he is still the voice of over 40 radio stations' jingle IDs. He is still very much in demand for session and commercial work as he is a bi-lingual vocalist with a distinctive brand.

The songs on “One World” stem from a ten year musical journey which has taken Martin to Sedona, AZ, Hawaii, Far North Queensland in Australia, the mountains of Austria, the Trail of Tears on the Appalachian trail and beyond. A multi instrumentalist and programmer, Martin will act as co-producer of the “One World” project.
