Taking Microphotographs with the FugiFilm Digital Camera:
Computer:
- Turn on.
Camera:
1. Find the image that you wish to photograph through the binocular eyepieces of the microscope.
- Remove one of the eyepieces and insert the camera.
- Be sure there is a memory card in the camera, shiny side down.
- Plug the power cord into the DC-IN outlet of the camera.
- Slide Power switch to the right.
- Be sure the mode dial is turned to the CAMERA-M icon.
- Press DISP (Display) button twice. This should give you a live view of the microscope through the viewfinder of the camera.
- Use the cable release to take a picture. If the PREVIEW screen on the camera doesn’t come up, hold the cable release in for a longer time.
- PREVIEW SCREEN shows on the camera.
- To accept your picture, press MENU/EXE button.
- To reject your picture, press the down arrow on the DIGITAL button. This will erase this photo.
- This is a slow process!!
- To turn off the flash, press the button on the top of the camera until the lightening bolt has a line through it.
- The camera shuts off frequently, causing you to have to start at (5) and adjust the flash again.
To save your Pictures:
- Remove the card from the camera and insert it into the card reader (shiny side down)
- On the computer, use right click on the START button
- Go to EXPLORE; go to Removable Disk E
- Open Folder IMFIDX10
- Give a unique name to your photo, e.g., Skinner 01
- Save to your flash drive or network space
- Send to Dr Skinner either on your thumb drive or via email. Reduce file size if necessary.
