Hello All- This message is to announce the upcoming inspector certification hands-on test session in Hillsborough County (Tampa area) on February 3-5, 2015. Please review the following information and register your candidate(s) below no later than January 23, 2015.
The hands-on test should be the final step in the inspector certification process. Candidates must meet all qualifications as outlined in the 2008 Florida School Bus Safety Inspection Manual including:
1. Must be able to document a minimum of two years’ experience as a journeyman level mechanic or have completed a certificate program from an accredited school.
2. Must be currently employed as a school bus mechanic (job description must reflect this).
3. Must have completed a two-day training course by a certified school bus inspection trainer.
4. Must have passed the inspector certification 100-question written test.
5. Must submit in advance, a properly completed inspector certification application and current job description.
The test takes approximately two hours and will be scheduled for a time during the period of February 3-5.

Deadline: January 23, 2015
There is a $50 fee, invoiced by the Florida Association for Pupil transportation (FAPT) upon registration.

Bud Fletcher (850) 245-9935. Upon receipt of your registration reply and attachments, I’ll send a confirmation containing specific test time(s), location information, FAPT Invoice and other details.
