Electrical Main Trade No. 1
Theoretical instructions :
(1) Working principle of a Transformer, uses of a Transformer; type of Transformers.
(2) Measuring instruments like Ammeter, Voltmeter, Wattmeter, Watt hour meter,
Megger, their description and uses.
(3) Single phase A C. Two wire and three wire, 3 phase four wire; A.C. systems over-
head systems and under-ground systems.
(4) Service connection, domestic lighting, Heating, mixed loads, Industrial wiring,
Insulation and wiring of Industrial Motors.
(5) Estimating and costing of materials.
(6) Indian Electricity Rules: Electrical symbols.
Practical Instructions:-
1. Servicing of A.C. Machines and their repairs.
2. Construction of simple transformer.
3. Rewinding of Transformer.
4. Circuits, domestic, heating, lighting and mixed loads.
5. Testing wiring insulation fault; rectification.
6. Insulation and wiring of D.C. and A.C. single and three phase machines, fault rectification.
7. Use of electrical equipments in automobiles.

CARPENTARY
Theoretical Instructions:-
Joinery :-Technical terms related to Joinery; their description, identification and
application.
Various type of Joints such as Framing joint, broadening joints and Lengthening joints.
Polishing, putting and material use; their names, ingredients, methods of preparation
and use.
Jointing Materials-Nuts, Screws, Dowels, Hinges and Glue, windows and Roof trusses.
Wood-working machines, their prescriptions, use; care and maintenance.
Practical Instructions:-
Preparation of small house-hold furniture, such as stool, table mirror-stand etc.
Making articles of wood; turning lathe curtains rods, table lamp, preparation of polish and polishing of furniture; Practice of all types of wood-working machines.
PATTERN- MAKING AND FOUNDRY
Main Trade -3
Theoretical Instruction :-
Brief description of pattern making machineries.
Cricular-saw, Bond and Universal wood-working machines, wood-turning, Lathe, their uses.
Contraction and shrinkage allowance for various metals, their influence on pattern making.
Core. Box Construction :- Important features, Boxes square and rectangular, Right core and left core, Boxes for round cores.
Practical Instruction:-
Laying-out pattern according to drawing and selecting timber for pattern.
Preparing patterns and making required core boxes for them. Making patterns such as saw eccentrics, shaft, coupling,bushing and piston etc.
MACHINIST TRADE

Theoretical Instruction

I.C. ENGINE
Theoretical instructions :- Main Trade No.-7
(1) Cycle or erations in two and four-stroke engines.
(2) Difference between two and four-stroke engines.
(3) Study of lubrication and cooling systems.
(4) Study of air filter, silencer, fuel pump, oil filter. maintenance of petrol and diesel
engines. Study and description of centrifugal and reciprocating water pumps,study of
prime movers related to pumps.
Practical instruction:-
Opening different parts of engine,like air-filter,cooling system,lubricating system. Opening
different parts of water pump,suction and delivery pipe-line, air-vessel and refitting
and the same operation of valves.
Starting the engine and pump. finding fault and their removal,replacement of parts.
VILLAGE SMITHY

Theoretical Instructions:-
Smithy operation:- description of all operations,knowledge of agricultural implements
such as ploughs,thrashers,winnower,fans,power hammer,description
use , care and maintenance.
Practical Instructions :-
Sharpening any arc and edge. Preparing small arc and edge,
Repair of agricultural implements and power plough, use of power
hammer etc.
SHEET METAL AND SPRAY PAINTING

Theoretical Instructions:-
(1) Soldering, shearing, brazing, and tining materials, shelter and importance.
Fluxes in use and their application.
(2) Knowledge of paints and varnishes.
(3) Study of materials used for painting.
(4) Knowledge of different simple machines such as shearing, bending, wiring, burning,
hand and power presses, grinders,drilling machines etc. their description, use, care
and maintenance.
(5) Method of pattern-development in detail.
(6) Study of air-compressor and spray-gun.Its use, care and maintenance and
operating instructions,Type of Spray-painting and advantages of spray -painting.
Practical Instructions :-
Exercise in rivetting,soldering and brazing, making copper and brass articles such as
trays, flowers vessels, lamp-sheds, photo - frame etc.
Preparation of surface, varnish, enamel and cellulose painting, the spray-gun and using it
for enamel and cellulose painting, metallic spray painting.
TEXTILE

Theoretical Instructions:-
Introduction to weaving by powerloom. Primary motions and their functions i.e.
Shedding, picking and beating. Important secondary motion of a powerloom and
its function. Setting weaves and preparation of their designs. Study of weaves suitable
for towels, such as hucka-back. Honey-comb.Brighter-honey-comb,draft and peg plain
simple calculations relating to weight of warp and weft.
Introduction to bleaching process and simple methods of bleaching cotton yarn and gray, cloth samples. Simple methods of dyeing direct and acid colours,uses of fancy weft yarn.
Practical Instructions :-
Practice of weaving on different types of Handloom, preparation of plain fabrics,
striped fabrics,check,shirting, and towel clothing, practice of bleaching cotton yarn
and cloth samples, practice of dyeing with simple dyes on yarn and cloth.
