Course Goals:

This year, you will master the Standards of Learning for Grade 6 and Grade 7 Mathematics. You will apply these standards to become mathematical problem solvers who communicate mathematically, reason mathematically, make mathematical connections, and use mathematical representations to model and interpret practical situations.

WGMS Student Expectations:

1)  Come prepared for class

2)  Be on time for class (see tardy policy below)

3)  Listen and follow directions

4)  Be respectful to all adults, peers, and property

Tardy Policy:

1st Tardy — Warning

2nd Tardy — Phone Call to Parent

3rd Tardy — Phone Call to Parent; After-School Detention

4th Tardy — Discipline Referral; In-School Suspension

5th Tardy — Discipline Referral; In-School Suspension; Parent Conference

Homework Policy: Homework will be assigned as practice of previously introduced material. Homework will be of reasonable length in terms of time and ability of students. Homework is expected to be completed the night it is assigned and cannot be made up (unless the student is absent).

Make-Up Work Policy: Students who are absent from class will have one day per day of absence to make up the assignments. It is the student’s responsibility to ask the teacher for make-up work.
