Step #3

Hooray! The RESEARCHJ

1.  Now, turn to the internet and do some research on one of your spins. Consider what you have generated for your spins and go from there. Remember: you need to do research and have all of your sources in front of you before you can accurately come up with a direction for your paper.

2.  Find TWO articles from the internet (not blogs and also not from any strange social media sites) that you will use (along with the TED-ed talk, and the original article) to write this paper.

3.  Read and annotate each article.

4.  Start thinking of what you can use from the research to tie it in to the TED-ed talk, and The Big Fat Lie article.

5.  If you don’t think you can pull anything from your researched articles, you need to go back and search again—try something different to look up.

6.  Select one of the two and flip……this……page…..over…….

7.  For the article you want to use in your paper, create an objective summary.

Got Counterclaims? Hope So.

As you know, any good argument needs to be balanced. Therefore, you need to address ONE or TWO counterclaims and explain to the reader (when you draft your paper) that even though there is opposition to your argument, the opposition is incorrect.

The counterclaims require you to do additional research and find another article –but this is an article and research that goes against your argument that you will refuteJ
