Steps to Success

Planning and Playing Jeopardy

Step One:

Each student must record up to 10 detailed facts about the region they became an expert on (9-10 = A, 7-8 = B, 5-6 = C, < 5 = D or F) A fact should be from one to three sentences describing something related to one of categories in your brochure. It needs to have enough information to be able to write a good clue and response. (see example on back) Next to the Jeopardy Facts section students need to write a “Jeopardy Style” clue and response related to the fact.

Facts can be taken from several sources, including the classroom textbook, classroom videos, educational television, television news, newspapers, news magazines, or Internet news articles.

Step Two:

Students will work in groups to sort facts into related categories as best they can. Then each group will construct a “best choice” list of six facts/clues/responses that fit into each category.

Step Three:

The class will review the group of “best choice” facts/clues/responses to create a “master list” of facts and Jeopardy clues in a chosen category.

Step Four:

Study the factoid master list to compete in Jeopardy.

Step Five:
