The Bear Facts
Our Fall Festival is coming up Friday, October 23rd from 5-8 pm. There will be games, inflatables, concessions, vendors and more! Be sure to get your wristbands and event tickets presale (price increases at the event for wristbands). Presale tickets for our FABULOUS raffle baskets are $1 each. You need not be present to win. When sending in presale tickets for raffle baskets, please indicate which basket on your form. All forms are available in the front office. We need your help so please sign up with your room mom to volunteer for the Fall Festival!!National Book Month
We are celebrating books and reading at South Douglas during the month of October. Some of the special events will be as follows:
- Non-fiction Wednesday, Oct. 7th – Check out a non-fiction book to read with a friend.
- Book Swap Wednesday, Oct. 14th – Students will donate a book from home and then swap it for another donated book.
- Drop Everything and Read Wednesday Oct. 21st – Drop everything and read from 9:00 – 10:00 or 1:00- 2:00
- Character Book Dress Up Friday, Oct. 30th – Dress as your favorite story book character. (No mask or pretend weapons allowed).
- T-shirt Friday – Every Friday we will be giving away a special reading t-shirt for the student that has the most AR points in their grade level, for that week, with 80% accuracy. The contest week will begin on Friday and go to the next Thursday. Happy Reading!!!!
HYUNDAI CAR RAFFLE TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR $5 IN THE OFFICE.
Our Fall Festival will be Friday, October 23!!! Activities will include the pie throw, cake walk, family friendly games, great concession items and amazing raffle baskets! Wrist bands are $15 for the first one, $10 each additional and will be $17 at the door. Individual game tickets are 2 for $1. Pre-sale wrist bands are the way to go!!
