Parent/Teacher Conferences, originally scheduled for April 16th have been moved to

April 24th.

ATTENTION SENIOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS

A reminder to all Senior Parents/Guardians, and students that the annual Senior Parent/Student Night is scheduled for Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 7PM. This is a very important meeting. Among the topics that will be discussed are guidance, academics, discipline, Prom, Baccalaureate Mass, and Graduation. Given the importance of the information that will be discussed, this meeting is MANDATORY. All Senior students MUST attend together with at least 1 parent/guardian.

GUIDANCE:

Seniors remember to check the acceptance and scholarship lists outside of guidance and academics. Let us know if we missed anything.

Its April and that means its WorkReady enrollment time! If you are looking for a summer job North Light Community Center’s SCEP WorkReady Summer Internship is for you. You must attend an enrollment info session on April 16th, or 24th.

Broad Street Run:

Any student interested in community service hours, please see Mr. McCann or Mr. Hill.

Lost and Found:

Our Lost and Found is located outside the Student Affairs Office. If you are missing something, please check the Lost and Found by today. Otherwise, items will be donated to a charity.

SOPHOMORE RETREAT:

The Sophomores will be going on their annual retreat to the St. Katherine Drexel Shrine today. Students will go to homeroom and following Homeroom will go to the Cafeteria to await the buses. We will return to Roman at approximately 2:15.

Senior Retreat:

The Senior retreat which was originally scheduled for tomorrow is being re-scheduled. A rescheduled date will be communicated as soon as possible.

Asian Cultures Club:

There will be a meeting for the Asian Cultures Club today in room 49 after 8th period. A special guest speaker, Ellen Hwang, from the Asian Arts Initiative will be present. There will be snacks!

Track & Field:

On Saturday the Track team competed at Coatesville High School. The distance medley relay of seniors Alec Barton and Matt Brown, junior Joar Dahn, and sophomore Luke Doughty finished 3rd en route to a new school record. Barton, Brown, and Doughty would later be joined by senior Nelson Costa for a 2nd place finish in the 4x800. Junior Colyn Todd finished 2nd in both the 300m and 110m hurdles, becoming the first runner in school history to dip under 40 seconds in the 300m hurdles. The freshmen sprint medley relay of Brandon Milbourne, Dahmeer Duvernay, Asad Grant, and Tyler Zwicharowski finished 3rd. All track and field members are dismissed after 7th for today's meet at Benjamin Rush. Please report directly to the cafeteria.

Tennis:

Roman defeated Haverford HS on Friday by a score of 4-1. Roman swept singles as Gerald Mars, Sebastian Lipinski, and Jack Frye played well. Roman also won a doubles match where Mike Hopkins and Chukwuma Duru outlasted their opponent. The team travels to Girard College today.

Ms. Jannelli- 1st period to the cafeteria, 6th period to the gym.

Mr. Kalinger- 6th period to the gym, 8th period dismissed.
