Snarky Puppy Instrumentalist Cory Henry Brings Soul and Funk to Weinberg Center

FREDERICK, Md., Tuesday, February 7, 2017 — Dubbed a “keyboard whiz” by NPR Music and best known as a member of the GRAMMY® award-winning collective Snarky Puppy, multi-instrumentalist Cory Henry will take the stage at the Weinberg Center for the Arts on Saturday, February 18 at 8:00pm. The performance will feature a unique solo tribute to the Hammond Organ, combining gospel, jazz, and soul music.

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Tickets may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the Box Office at 301.600.2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick St. Discounts are available for students, children, military, and seniors.

Boasting over eight million combined YouTube views, Cory Henry has built a reputation as an in-demand multi-instrumentalist and producer who has worked with an array of musical legends across genres, including Yolanda Adams, Sara Bareilles, P. Diddy, Kirk Franklin, Kenny Garrett, Robert Glasper, Derrick Hodge, Shaun Kingston, Donald Lawrence, Michael McDonald, Boyz II Men, NAS, Bruce Springsteen, The Roots and as a current member of the multi-GRAMMY® award-winning collective Snarky Puppy. Filmed and recorded in Brooklyn at the Greater Temple of Praise, his latest album "The Revival," a tribute to the Hammond Organ—his instrument of choice—hit #1 on the iTunes Jazz Chart in March 2016. Henry's most recent album, recorded with the Funk Apostles, was released in 2016.
