The Suffield Players proudly announce a theatrical season of Moonlight, Mirth and Mystery! We open our 63rd season with a play celebrating its 63rd year of performance… our 150th production as well! Come to historic Mapleton Hall in Suffield CT and enjoy some of the best live theatre in the area!

October 8 - 24, 2015: a Mystery

The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie is one of the most popular plays ever produced, as well as one of the most enduring. Just past its Diamond Anniversary year, The Mousetrap tells the story of a snow-stranded group of people who discover, to their horror, that there is a murderer in their midst! One by one, the suspicious characters reveal their sordid pasts until the last, nerve-shredding moment, when all is finally revealed. This classic play features a deliciously suspenseful story in which murder lurks around every corner!

December 4 – 6, 2015: Holiday Comedy

4 X’mas: Four One-Act Plays by George Cameron Grant. Presented as our Holiday Benefit Challenge Fundraiser, these four heart-warming Christmas vignettes will be performed with a minimum of rehearsals, and a maximum of creativity! All proceeds for this production go toward the upkeep and maintenance of our theatre home, Mapleton Hall. This show will be accompanied by our Annual Teacup Raffle. 4 X’mas contains some adult situations; recommended for ages 13 years and up.

February 11 – 27, 2016: Dramatic Comedy

Night Sky by Susan Yankowitz explores what Steven Hawking has called the two mysteries remaining to us: the brain and the cosmos. In a series of brief, often comic episodes, the play follows a brilliant and articulate astronomer through accident-related stroke and aphasia… all the while holding onto her family, career, and place in the universe. An uplifting play about survival, and the power of the human spirit. Night Sky contains some adult language and situations; recommended for ages 13 and up.

May 5 – 21, 2016: Tony Award-Winning Action Comedy

The 39 Steps by Patrick Barlow and John Buchan mixes a Hitchcock masterpiece with juicy spy novels, Monty Python and film-noir spoofs. Packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a small but versatile group of actors), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers, and some good old-fashioned romance! A fast-paced whodunit comedy for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! Recommended for ages 11 and up.
