Sherlock Quick Start

To install batteries, hold Sherlock with its wider end toward you and the two round buttons facing down. To remove the battery cover, move your finger down the short slot at the top of the case and lift the raised mark on the cover. Two AAA batteries are provided. Insert the left battery with its flat end facing toward you. Insert the remaining battery facing in the opposite direction and replace the cover.
Paper labels are pressure sensitive.
Plastic tags can be pinned or rubber banded to items.
To play tags or labels, hold the wider end of Sherlock against the tag or label. Press and release the bottom button.
To record tags or labels, hold the wider end of Sherlock against the tag or label. Press and release the bottom button. Then press and hold the top button. Begin speaking after the beep. Release the button when you are finished speaking information for the tag or label.
Warning! Tags are small and may present a choke hazard if they are swallowed. Keep them away from small children and do not hold them in mouth while working with them.
