Tryouts

¨ @ Brookside High School

o March 12 OR March 13

§ 5-7 pm

o Sign-in upon arrival

o Acts will tryout in the order that they sign in

¨ Singing Acts

o Music backup must be the karaoke version

§ You may tryout without backup music

o Acts may be solo or group

¨ Bands

o May audition with basic set-up

o Please provide a CD of a sample performance

o Must send a representative of the band @ to audition

Announcement of Talent Show Contestants:

Names will be posted and announced at each school on Friday, March 15th.

Run Through – Thursday, March 21nd 7-8 pm @ BHS

o Required for ALL acts to perform on Friday night to determine:

§ order of the performances

§ lighting

§ microphone placement (if required)

§ miscellaneous requirements of groups

§ introduction information

o Music CD’s

§ Must be of the karaoke version for any singing act.

§ Please label each CD case with:

· Name of Act & Performers

· Label the track # to be played

· CD’s will be kept for Friday’s show

o Please remember to collect these after the show on Friday.

o Entry Fee Payments Due @ Run Through:

§ $5 each person

§ $20 maximum for groups

§ Make Checks Payable to: Brookside High

o Pre-Sale Tickets will be available at the run through

§ $15 each

§ Enables ticket holder to enter gym at 5:30 p.m.

§ Also available for sale by stopping in at the main office at Brookside High School during office hours on Thursday 3/21 and Friday 3/22 until 3 pm.

o General Admission Tickets

§ $10 each

§ Go on sale @ 5:40 p.m. on the day of the show.

§ This is a fundraiser event for The Class of 2016 and The Brookside Drama Club.

Friday, March 22nd Talent Show @ 6 PM

o Talent Acts will check in upon arrival in the cafeteria

o Please arrive no later than 5:30 p.m.

o Doors will open to Pre-Sale ticket holders at 5:30 pm

o General admission tickets will go on sale at 5:40 pm

o Talent Acts sit together as a group in the order that they perform.

§ Mrs. Scherry and her student helpers will sit with the performers.

§ Performers are asked to be courteous and respectful to all acts.

· Do not exit or enter the gym during a performance.

· Be mindful that cell phones can be disruptive. Please turn them off.

o Awards

§ Talent Acts will be judged as two groups

o K-5th grade and 6th – 12th grades

§ Awards for each group will be announced at the end of the Talent Show.
