Dear Incoming Second Graders,

Congratulations on completing First Grade. You are about to enter a very exciting time as you get ready for Second Grade. Make reading a part of your journey this summer by choosing as many books from the enclosed list and reading them carefully. Along with this list, please read any other books of your choice.

Also, we are asking that you read one book from the Magic Tree House Series by Mary Pope Osborne (marypopeosborne.com/) and complete the enclosed “Story Map”. This will be due on Friday, August 29, 2014.

We strongly recommend that you purchase Summer Bridge Activities book1to2. (This is for students entering Second Grade in the fall.)
