Scientist of the Month – Michael Faraday (5th/6th grade)

Michael Faraday was a scientist with several discoveries and inventions. You are going to create a timeline of his greatest achievements on a separate sheet of paper. With each event, you need to write 2-3 sentences about his invention and/or its importance today.

The events you are going to use are the discovery of electromagnetic rotation, the discovery of benzene, the invention of the Faraday Cage, the discovery of Electromagnetic Induction, and the Discovery of Gas Liquefaction and Refrigeration.

Place the events in order chronologically; include the year and a short description of each event.

The timeline is due on or before Monday, November 8th.

Part 2: Choose one of Faraday’s achievements and discuss why it is his most important. This must be written in a paragraph with at least 8 sentences.
