SCHOLARSHIP AWARD - REDFIELD KIWANIS

Redfield Kiwanis service organization will be awarding a scholarship(s) to a high school senior(s) in the Redfield School District. To be considered, applications must be submitted by April 10, 2017 to Diane Dangel, 823 W 5th St, Redfield.

To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must be a senior, must be eligible for graduation, and planning to attend a university, college, or vocational school of the applicant’s choice. The Redfield Kiwanis Club will make its selection of the winner(s).

The scholarships will be awarded to students who excel in community service. Many students participate in supervised church and school activities and local organizations and we want to hear what you are doing and what you have done. Kiwanis is especially interested in students who do projects or services independently that benefit people in our community and/or beyond.

The application will be your own design and must include:

Ÿ Applicant’s name

Ÿ Date of birth

Ÿ Address

Ÿ Phone/email address

Ÿ Parent(s) or guardian(s)

Ÿ University/college/vocational school of your choice

Ÿ Major(s) and minor(s)

Ÿ List of school activities, time spent and the impact this has had on your life

Ÿ List of church activities, time spent and the impact this has had on your life

Ÿ List your structured community involvement and projects (4-H, etc), time spent and how this has impacted your life.

Ÿ Describe activities and/or projects that you initiated or participated in that weren’t part of a church or school organization or function. Tell us what or who inspired you, how you carried out the project(s) and the results.

Ÿ Also include an essay (approximately 500 words) that describes what you have learned from community service and the benefits you have received from helping others. How will these experiences help you in your future?

Ÿ If you came into a large sum of money by whatever means (inheritance, lottery, etc), briefly tell us what your dream project would be.
