Explanatory notes
1 Definitions
Airside refers to the movement area of an airport, adjacent terrain and buildings, or portions thereof, where access is controlled;
Public protection in the context of this unit standard refers to the protection of the general public and passengers, and the protection of property;
The term airport refers to aerodrome as per Civil Aviation Rules.
2 Reference to enterprise procedures means that all activities must comply with the requirements contained in the current airport exposition, current airport company manuals and procedures, and any relevant legislative and/or regulatory requirements, which may include but are not limited to: Civil Aviation Act 1990, relevant Civil Aviation Rules, New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) Policy.

Evidence requirements
1.1 Safety measures for jet effluxes and propeller slipstream are applied in accordance with enterprise procedures.
Range protective mechanisms may include but are not limited to – boundaries, markers, beacons, hazard signage, aircraft operations, vehicles operating airside, personnel escorts;
evidence of five is required.
1.2 Any potential hazards are detected, reported, and logged in accordance with enterprise procedures.
Range includes but is not limited to – date, time of detection, description of potential hazard, description of action taken.
