1) What feelings did you experience while attending this meeting?

The HIV supervision was very educational. I was able to learn a few new things such as the services that New Image provides to HIV patients. I enjoyed the environment and the group dynamics in the group meeting. Whenever I had a question they were welcoming and answered my questions clearly. Also, they did not make me feel like an outsider whenever they had discussed an unfamiliar topic they were very aware of my presence and made sure they further elaborated on the topic for me. The size of the group was another factor that made me feel more comfortable. Since there were four members in total; it felt more personal and made it easier to express myself. Overall, it was enjoyed the group meeting, and I look forward to attending future meetings.

2) Comment on your feelings about how the group interacted with one another.

I was very happy with how well the group interacted with one another. There was a mutual respect for one another’s opinions and/or ideas. When one group member was seeking advice from the other members, the input process was not interrupted and was educational. Furthermore, there was a good level of interaction among the group members. Everyone acknowledge each other’s opinions and/or ideas.

3) What could you do to promote a satisfying & productive experience for participants at the next meeting.

For the next meeting I would do the same thing that I did this time. I will be interactive, respectful and attentive towards the other members’ opinions and/or ideas. Since this meeting was satisfying and productive there is noting else to change.

3) What have you learned about yourself?

I learned that I am less afraid to ask questions when I am confused and/or unknowledgeable about a particular subject. Also, because I felt comfortable with the other group members it was much easier for me to engage in the meeting. Not sure if this is a good thing. Another thing that I learned about myself is that I was more engaging during the group meeting because I was interested in learning more about the subject; also I liked how the other group members were willing to teach me.

5) Are there any things you learned through the discussion which are helpful to you in understanding the kinds of actions that help or hinder a group?

Actions that I learned through the discussion that helped the group were that each member was respectful towards each other. All of us listened attentively to each other. The main thing that I learned that helps a group is if there is a mutual respect among the group members it facilitates the process of communicating their ideas more effectively.
