RE: 2002 SONC Basketball Schedule in Rocky Mount, March 15-17

DEPARTURE TIME

All teams will leave from Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation, 200 Plant Rd (off

Franklin St across from Tandoor Indian Restaurant) on Friday, March 15 (except

Pilots)

Big Blues and Scorpions: 10:00 am

Bulls, Tigers, and X-Press: 1:00 pm

Pilots: 6:45 am on Saturday, March 16

Call your head coach if you need assistance with transportation to CHPR

RETURN TIME

Pilots will return to CHPR on Sunday, March 17 no later than 3:00 pm

All other teams will return no later than 4:00 pm

Any team may return earlier depending on final standings – we will call first

CLOTHING

* Appropriate competition shoes (high tops or sneakers; no black soles)

* SO CH/OC “Who Let the Dogs Out” t-shirt for Opening Ceremonies

* Rain gear

* Warm clothing

* Nice outfit for dance

* Other change of clothes as desired

* The Basics: sleep wear, change of underwear and socks, etc.

* Gym bag to bring daily wear to competition sites

* SO CH/OC will provide uniforms and sweats

** Please mark athlete’s name and “SO CH/OC” in all clothing if they cannot easily identify their own clothing

** Please pack only what you can carry! Cameras, walk-mans, etc. are allowed but SO CH/OC coaching staff will not be responsible for custody

MEDICATIONS

* Please give all medications and dosage instructions to Colleen Lanigan or

head coach

* Your medical form must be up-to-date


MONEY

* You may bring money for souvenirs and snacks at hotel vending machines

* You will need money for Sunday lunch

* If you need assistance monitoring money, please put in a marked envelope with amount and give to head coach

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS/MAPS: ENCLOSED

FOOD: MENUS

* Meals are provided by SONC except lunch on Sunday

* Notify Colleen if you have special dietary restrictions or needs

* Dinner on Friday night will be at the Gateway Center (Holiday Inn parking lot)

Tossed salad, fried chicken, spaghetti, meat sauce, marinara sauce,

vegetable medley, garlic bread, rolls and butter, tea

* Dinner on Saturday night will be an allowance at area restaurants (our choice)

* Lunches will be served at the competitions sites (sandwich, chips, fruit, beverage)

* Breakfasts will be at the Gateway Center from 6:30-8:30 am both mornings

FAMILY REGISTRATION

All family members are encouraged to come support their athletes! In addition, SONC Family Services Committee provides extra activities for those families who register with them. Application packets were distributed earlier; call Colleen if you need a replacement.

NOTE

Any behavior that jeopardizes safety of self or others, or any behavior that is blatantly disrespectful to coaches and/or team members will result in the immediate termination of participation. This means you will have to leave the event (someone from home will need to pick you up).
