Sacred Heart High School Transportation
Yonkers Residents
Students who live 1 ½ miles or more from Sacred Heart High School are entitled to either a yellow school bus or a public bus pass (determined by Yonkers Board of Transportation). Currently they are issued at a cost of $580.00 per year to be paid in full in September for yellow buses and $58.00 per month (Sept. through June) for the Metrocards. If you are a new student and need to use this service, you must call the Yonkers Information Center @ 914-376-8015 to schedule an appointment to register your child with the school district.
New York City Residents
Students who are New York City residents are issued a NYC MetroCard which can be used only in N.Y.C. Students requiring this MetroCard must fill out an application and bring it with them when registering for Sacred Heart High School. This card does not work in Westchester.
The #2 Yonkers Westchester Bee-Line bus starts at West 242 St. and stops on the corner of Park and Shonnard Place, which is just two short blocks from the school. The cost is $2.75 each way, paid either in coins or by a Westchester MetroCard which you will need to purchase on your own.
There are other Bee-Line buses (such as the #25 and the #4) which connect from other areas to the #2 line. For more information check the Westchester Bee-Line website at www.beelinebus.westchestergov.com or call 914-813-7777.
Students who live in other Westchester municipalities, (such as White Plains, Mt. Vernon, etc.) must call their local school board district for their transportation needs.
