IVV CREDIT : All previous participants of IVV events are reminded to bring their IVV books to these events. You may purchase new books at the events.

PROCEDURES: At the start point, each participant will be issued their own start card, which must be signed and personally presented at the control points for stamping. The individual start cards will be turned in at the finish table after completing the event.

ELIGIBILITY: Everyone is welcome to walk with us! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Groups are welcome.

CONDITIONS : Pets are permitted on these events; however, they must be on a 6-foot leash and you must clean up after your pet. Pets are NOT permitted in the Start Point. Litter must be deposited in the designated containers. This event will be held regardless of most weather conditions. The 10-km walks may be completed a second time for credit at no additional fee, as long as you can complete the walk by the published finish time. D AY WALK

SPONSOR: Virginia Volkssport Association (AVA-VA)

DISTANCE: There is one 5-kilometer (3.1 mile) trail and one 10-kilometer (6.2 mile) trail.

START AND FINISH TIMES: The day walk will start between 9: 00 AM and noon, finish by 3:00 PM.

WALK FEES: You may pre-register for this event. Pre-registrations must be mailed by December 10, 2013. The A Award is a 3” x 4” patch (pictured on the front). Only 35 patches will be available and there will be a reorder. Cost of the award, if pre-registered, is $8. Cost of the award at the event will be $9 and the credit only cost is $3. There is no fee just to walk the trail. There will be no refund of any fees paid.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Trail rating 1A. The trail will be through Washington DC tourist area. You will pass or walk through the following tourist areas: one of the Carnegie Library buildings in DC, Ford Theatre, museums along the Mall, and various monuments and memorials throughout Washington, DC. The trail is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Water will be available at the start point, but you should carry water on the trail.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS: This walk qualifies for the following special programs: America's Bakeries, Celebrating Golden Cinemas, Carnegie Libraries, Fraternal Organizations, Strolling Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Walking America's Murals

DIRECTIONS : Take your favorite route to I-395 in the Washington DC area. Take Exit 3 (12th Street Expressway) onto 12th Street SW. Follow 12 St for 1.1 miles. Turn right on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. The Old Post Office Building will be on your right. Parking is available on the streets near the start point. The start table will be inside the building.

NIGHT WALK

START AND FINISH TIMES: The night walk will start between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Finish by 8:00 PM.

WALK FEES: IVV credit only is $3.00. There is no pre-registration for this event Awards from previous events will be available at the event for pur­chase at $2.00 each. There will be no refund of any fees paid.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: An easy 10K night walk on sidewalks along Caroline Street, Washington Avenue, by historic Kenmore, along Lafayette Blvd. and Princess Anne Street. A 5K trail is available. Downtown shops and houses will be decorated for Christmas, and stores will be open for shopping. As this is a night event, recommend you bring a flashlight, just in case. The trail is suitable for wheelchairs and scooters. Water will be available at the start point and at the checkpoint

DIRECTIONS : The Blarney Stone, 715 Caroline Street. Fredericksburg is equidistant (50 miles) from Washington, D.C. and Richmond, Virginia, on I-95. From the North, take I-95 south. Merge onto US-17-BR S/Warrenton Rd via EXIT 133A toward Falmouth. Turn right onto Cambridge St/US-1/US-17-BR. Continue to follow US-1/US-17-BR. Turn left onto US-17-BR S/US-1-BR S/Princess Anne St. Turn left onto Charlotte St. Take the 1st left onto Caroline St/US-17-BR N/US-1-BR N/VA-2 N. The Blarney Stone, 715 CAROLINE ST, is on the right. FROM THE SOUTH, take I-95 north. Merge onto VA-3 E via EXIT 130A toward Fredericksburg. Turn slight left onto US-1-BR/Lafayette Blvd. Turn left onto Caroline St/US-17-BR N/US-1-BR N/VA-2 N. The Blarney Stone, 715 CAROLINE ST, is on the right.
