Change of roster notification – Social and Community Services I ndustry
You can use this letter to record any variations to an employee’s roster under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
If you want to change an employee’s regular roster or ordinary hours of work, you must consult with the employee and their representatives (eg. their union) about the change before you send this letter. Details of these discussions can be added to this letter.
You do not need to provide this letter to a part-time employee if the only change to a roster is the mutually-agreed addition of extra hours.

Notice of change in roster
In accordance with clause 25.5 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award 2010 (the Award), I am writing to inform you that <insert the business/company name> has varied your shift/s commencing <insert commencement time and date> to <insert end time and date>.
The reason for this change is <insert the reason for change in roster e.g. to meet operational demands, to cover an employee on leave or a client has cancelled their appointment etc>.
You do not need to provide an employee with 7 days’ notice of a change of roster if the change is a result of another employee being absent from duty due to illness, or in an emergency.
Your shift/s will now be from <insert new commencement time and date> to <insert new end time and date>.
You must provide employees with at least 7 days notice of a change in roster. Make sure you provide this letter to your employees at least 7 days before the variation occurs.
