Ron Noble, MBA, BSc, CMA, FCCHSE, FACHE.

Ron has achieved a Hons. B.Sc. in Kinesiology, a M.B.A. in Health Services Management and his Fellowship within both the Canadian College of Health Service Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is a certified long-term care administrator with the Ontario Long Term Care Association, a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) with the Canadian Association of Management Consultants and Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He has 20 years of progressive leadership experience within the healthcare industry, encompassing both the public and private sectors. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Georgetown and District Memorial Hospital and Executive Director of a community based provider of health care services. He has worked as a Principal consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and has been the President of his own consulting firm since 1998. Ron has also as the Chair of the Canadian College of Health Service Executives, a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Healthcare Association and is a surveyor for the Canadian Council of Health Services Accreditation.

Tye completed his undergraduate degree in Architecture at the University of Toronto and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design at Harvard University, receiving distinction on his final design studio. In 1988, Zeidler presented Tye with the Toronto Arts Foundation Protégé Award in his honor. Of the projects with which Tye has been associated in the past, three have received the prestigious Canadian Architect Award of Excellence as well as receiving over thirty awards and publications featured in a variety of North American and European journals. Tye’s health care project management and design experience is based on the creation of community hospitals for clients such as Bluewater Health, Sarnia; The Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, The Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga, The St. John’s Rehabilitation Hospital, North York, The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, Thunder Bay, the Halton Health Care Services sites in Oakville and Milton, The Peel Regional Cancer Centre, Mississauga and the North Western Ontario Regional Cancer Centre, Thunder Bay among others.

For the first time in Canada, a research study will determine what impact the design of a healing environment has on patient recovery and satisfaction. This aspect of patient care will be carefully scrutinized as part of an Ontario Hospital Association Change Foundation research grant to measure Best Performance through Metrics of Evidence-based Design. The Change Foundation recently awarded The Credit Valley Hospital, Cancer Care Ontario and the architectural firm, Farrow Partnership Architects Inc. a $100,000 grant to work with WIN Workflow Integrity Networks to measure the effects of space and design on staff and patient satisfaction.

Dr. Sheldon Fine

Vice President of Regional Services for the Peel Regional Cancer Centre and the Chief of Oncology

Dr. Fine acted as Chair for the Section of Hematology/Oncology at the OMA from 1988 to 2003 and sits on a number of external committees including the Colorectal Association of Canada, the Systemic Therapy Task Force and the Provincial Leadership Council for Cancer Care Ontario. He is an assistant professor at the University Of Toronto Department Of Medicine.

Dr. Fine has written and co-written numerous publications, journals and papers related to cancer and provided recent consultation on the revision of the World Health Organization staging system (2000). He lectures frequently to the medical community as well as in the public forum.

Dr. George Wu

Chief of Nephrology

Dr. Wu was born in Hong Kong. He was educated in the United States and Canada. He was a graduate of the University of Toronto Medical School. He did his specialty trainings in the Toronto area. He is a certified Internist and Nephrologist.

Dr. Wu joined Credit Valley Hospital as the Medical Director of the Renal Program at Peel in 1985, prior to its opening. Other then a fully active clinical practice, he also pursues research and Publications with particular interest in dialysis.

Dr. Pamela Coates

Chief of Paediatrics, Director of Paediatrics Program

Dr. Coates is Chief of Paediatrics and Medical Director of the Paediatric Program at the Credit Valley Hospital. She has had a Consulting Paediatric practice in Mississauga since 1984. Prior to coming to Ontario Dr. Coates completed her medical training at McGill University and the Montreal Children’s hospital. Dr. Coates currently participates actively in The GTA-905 Child health network and is co-chair of the Paediatric Service Task Force. Her family which includes four daughters continues to provide inspiration and support for her passion for child health.

Ms. Sandra Haist

Ms. Sandra Haist is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Asthma Educator. She is the Pilot Coordinator for the Registered Nurses of Ontario, Asthma Best Practice Guidelines as well as the Project Manager for the PRIISME Project, a joint initiative between Health Centre and GlaxoSmithKline on Optimal Management of Chronic Disease.

Dr. Ling Huang M.D., C.C.F.P.

Trillium Health Centre

Dr. Ling Huang, M.D. C.C.F.P., has been a staff physician with Trillium Health Centre since 1984. She is a graduate of the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Medicine and she received her Certificant of the College of Family Physicians (CCFP) from the University of Toronto. She has her own family practice in Mississauga.

Ms. Lynda Perry MSW, RSW

Trillium Health Centre

Ms. Lynda Perry, MSW, RSW is a Psychogeriatric Resource Consultant with Trillium Health Centre providing education and consultation to staff in nursing homes and in community agencies to help them better understand and meet the mental health needs of their residents and clients. Lynda has worked with people with Dementia and their caregivers in a range of settings including in-patient psychiatry, Long Term Care, and home care. She has also taught activation, social service and gerontology students at several community colleges in Toronto. She co-authored Psychogeriatrics: A Practical Handbook with Wasylenki et al.

Dr. Kujtan is a Columnist of Doctors Corner in The Mississauga News, an Investigative Coroner, Medical Doctor, University of Toronto lecturer, and Tenures on the District Health Council, Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) and OHIP committees.

Ms. Margaret Cheung, Trillium Health Centre

Ms. Margaret Cheung is a Registered Dietitian at Trillium Health Centre’s Diabetes Education Centre (DEC). Margaret has more than ten years experience in diabetes education. She coordinates the Heart Health Program at the Diabetes Education Centre and is currently organizing a program for people with a pre-diabetes condition. She has been a speaker at the Canadian Diabetes Association’s national conference and numerous community events.

Dr. Stephen Ho DDS, MSc. FRCD(C), FADSA

Dr. Stephen Ho is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He practices at Credit Valley Oral Surgery with offices in Mississauga, Oakville and Milton. He is a staff member in the department of surgery at Credit Valley Hospital. His clinical interests are in the area of dental implants, bone grafting and reconstructive jaw surgery.

Ms. Lindsay Graydon

President – Home Heroes Inc.

Lindsay Graydon, the Mississauga Board of Trade’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year, is an expert in the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) field. She is the founder and President of Home Heroes Inc. and has been in the IAQ business for 8 years, helping families keep their homes healthy.

She improves the health standards of Canadian homes by increasing ventilation, cleaning the air and removing source pollutants such as mould, dust mites and numerous air-borne chemicals. She also deals with the specific medical needs of clients who have been ordered to keep their homes immaculately clean. These needs are common among recovering cancer and transplant patients and individuals with asthma, allergies and environmental hypersensitivities.

Ms. Graydon has been featured on City TV’s Breakfast Television, CBC Venture and Rogers Cable 10 and writes articles on indoor air for various publications.

Dr. Chi-Ming Chow MDCM MSc FRCPC

Dr. Chi-Ming Chow is an attending staff cardiologist at St. Michael’s Hospital. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, University of Toronto. He has an undergraduate degree in computer science from Brown University, USA. He completed his Doctor of Medicine (1990) at McGill University (Montreal, Quebec) and a Masters of Science in Epidemiology at McGill University (1997). He completed his training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at McGill University. He then pursued his clinical and research echocardiography fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University before joining the Division of Cardiology at St. Michael’s Hospital in 2001.

Current areas of research include clinical epidemiology in coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease, ethnic differences in cardiovascular diseases, as well as investigating new technologies in non-invasive imaging and medical informatics.


Ms. Becky Li

Ms. Becky Li is a Registered Nurse. She works as the Director of Resident Care at Mon Sheong Scarborough Long Term Care and is one of the Planning Committee members of the Chinese Renal Association of The Kidney Foundation of Canada Central Ontario Branch. Prior to her current role, Becky held a variety of nursing positions, both within community and hospital settings.

Master Yam has studied with many famous masters in China over the past 40 years on the various forms of Taoist medical, qi-gong techniques.

He was an instructor at the Canadian College of Tradition Chinese Medicine. He has taught classes on the Chinese Meridian System, Meditation, Yuan-gong, and the Yang’s Style Tai Chi in Mississauga and Etobicoke for the last twenty years. He has been dedicated and tireless in teaching the essence of Chinese healing arts to his students so they can heal try to themselves, prevent disease and stay healthy.

He received further training in smoking cessation and in addiction from the Center for Addiction and Mental Health. He is a practicing family physician in Smart Health Medical Center, Markham. He is the coordinator and practicing specialist at Docspherm Chronic Pain and Addiction Medical Center, New York. He is involved in CCFP certification examination and in the teaching of clinical clerk from University of Toronto medical school. He is actively involved in organizing events that promote smoking cessation for both family physicians and general public in the Chinese community. He is also a Director of the Chinese Canadian Council, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

Chi Hung Tai Chi Academy

Chi Hung Tai Chi Academy was established by a group of Tai Chi enthusiasts
in 1989 at St. Jerome Heritage Language School and moved to the present
location in 1991. The goal of the Academy is to promote the health and the
well being of the human kind by teaching the spirit and technique of the 88
movement Yang style Tai Chi Chuan to the communities. The style taught at
the Academy is passed on by the late Master Chi Tong, who studied under
Master C. Y. Tseung, the last student of the famous Yang style Master Yang
Ching Fu.


Under the direction of Chief Instructor Philip Ho, the Academy has taught
over hundreds of students. Besides Tai Chi the Academy also offers Chi Kung, Luk Hop Ba Fa Chuan and Wing Chun Kung Fu. The Academy is very active in participating in community events like Carassauga, fund raising for Yee Hong Foundation, health awareness seminars & demonstrations etc.

Instructor Trainer at Club Meadowvale here in Mississauga, Libby is one of 7 Canadian Reebok Master Trainers who presents both nationally and internationally. Libby created the first Boxing for Fitness Certification in Canada, and works on developing continuing education programs for personal trainers and instructors. Libby also sits on the advisory committee with the Humber College Fitness Leadership Program.

Libby has appeared on Global News, WTN and City TV along with writing regular fitness articles in a variety of publications. Currently, you can catch Libby regularly on CTV as the Fitness Expert on Canada AM.

Miss Lisa Sommers

After working 16 years in the corporate world in a variety of capacities, Lisa Sommers decided upon a drastic change in career in 2003 and enrolled in the full certification Pilates program at Stott Pilates in Toronto. She is Stott certified at an advanced level for matwork as well as all equipment, and has continued her education in mind/body work by attending workshops and seminars on various subjects (i.e. pre and post natal, injuries and special populations, stability ball, etc.)

Lisa thrives on being able to help her clients, private and corporate, alleviate their particular body issues and in promoting Pilates as a very effective and enjoyable exercise discipline for people of all ages and abilities.
