The purpose of the Roman Open Charities Scholarship is to provide a financial incentive for students attending Georgia Northwestern Technical College.
SCHOLARHIP AWARDS:
Multiple Scholarships of $500-$1,000 are available.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Students who:
· GPA Requirement of 3.0
· Seniors of Coahulla Creek High School, Dalton High School, Morris Innovative High School, Murray County High School, North Murray High School, Northwest Georgia College and Career Academy, Northwest Whitfield High School, Phoenix High School, and Southeast Whitfield High School.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
· Students may apply by completing the Roman Open Charities Scholarship application form.
RESTRICTIONS FOR USE:
· The scholarship’s use is restricted to tuition, books, fees, and required education related expenses such as uniforms, tools, or health examinations.
· An account will be established with Georgia Northwestern Technical College Foundation, Inc. for each scholarship recipient for payment of approved expenses.
SELECTION PROCESS:
· The Roman Open Charities Advisory Board will review all applications and select scholarship recipients.
NOTIFICATION PROCESS TO STUDENTS:
· The Roman Open Charities Advisory Board will notify the recipients.

STATEMENT REQUIREMENT: Each applicant must submit an original statement with this application. The statement should be at least one typed page in length on the following topic:
What to do you plan to study at Georgia Northwestern Technical College and how will the Roman Open Charities Scholarship help you achieve your goals?
LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION: Applicant must obtain one letter of recommendation from a teacher. The letter should communicate the faculty member’s observations of the student’s potential to become a skilled employee in the field of study the student is pursuing.

I hereby verify that all the information provided on this application is accurate. If selected as a scholarship nominee, I hereby give my permission for GNTC and/or the Scholarship Committee to publicly announce my selection.
