Appetizer (Everybody Shares)
· Write 3 paragraphs explaining the difference between weathering and erosion.
1st paragraph- Explain weathering. Use details and examples in your paragraph.
2nd paragraph- Explain erosion. Use details and examples in your paragraph.
3rd paragraph- Explain the difference between weathering and erosion.
Entrée (Select One)
· Create a diagram of the rock cycle. Your diagram must be detailed and labeled.
· Create a foldable describing the three different rock classifications. (Igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic.)
· Create a glossary of at least ten new words you have learned during our rocks and minerals unit. For example: Luster- The shine from the surface of a mineral. The word luster is used to describe different types of minerals. It is usually characterized as glassy or dull.
Side Dishes (Select at least two)
· Write a full sentence explaining the relationship between a rock and a mineral.
· Write at least two examples of each of the three different rock classifications. For example, sedimentary = limestone, conglomerate, shale, sandstone…….
· Write at least two sentences explaining the difference between magma and lava.
Dessert (Optional, you may pick one for 5 extra credit points)
· Write a poem describing the rock cycle.
· Create a rock cycle rap. Schedule a time to perform your rap with your teacher and if you qualify, you may perform your rap in front of the class. You may work in pairs for this project.
