REVOLUTIONARY WAR PROJECT

SS4H4 The student will explain the causes, events, and results of the American Revolution.

d. Describe key individuals in the American Revolution with emphasis on King George III, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Benedict Arnold, Patrick Henry, and John Adams.

SS4CG5 The student will name positive character traits of key historical figures and government leaders (honesty, patriotism, courage, trustworthiness).

You will be researching your important historical figure to complete this project. Some work for this project may need to be completed at home.

REQUIREMENTS:

You should create a poster about ______. Your poster must include:

·  The name of your assigned Revolutionary War figure

·  Birthdate and date of death (You can just use the year)

·  3 reasons the person is famous (achievements, heroic actions, etc.)

·  At least 1 reason this person was important to the Revolutionary War and America’s independence

·  At least 2 color pictures (may be printed or drawn)

·  At least 1 character trait AND how that person demonstrated that trait

·  Resources are listed

You will become an expert on your assigned Revolutionary War figure and will be responsible for teaching us about him. Give us lots of information!

BONUS: You may create a PowerPoint or Prezi presentation on your figure. However, the poster must be completed before you work on your presentation. Due to limited computer time, this project would most likely have to be completed at home. You may bring a flash drive to save your work at school.
